And this is how we found ourselves – Roni, Einat and our three children – opening a new chapter in our lives, in a place we never truly planned to reach, but one that turned out to be exactly right for us.
It all began about two years ago. One evening, we sat together and realised that something had to change. The pace, the pressure, the endless race – we felt that we were no longer living our lives, but constantly reacting to them. We wanted something different. Quieter. More balanced. Better for our family.
The idea of moving abroad developed gradually, and after some thought we decided to explore relocation options. A brief search led us to solicitor Lisa Segalov. We sent a message and arranged a meeting – and from the very first conversation it was clear that she understood people just as well as she understood processes.
During the meeting, Lisa laid out all the possible paths in a clear and straightforward way, without unrealistic promises or shortcuts. Everything was transparent, organised and professional, and we immediately felt we could trust her. From that point, the decision was almost effortless.
We began the process – documents, forms, checks, and waiting. Every stage was accompanied by precise guidance, availability, and a great deal of patience. There was always a sense that someone was holding the bigger picture, even when we felt tired or uncertain.
We left Israel with heavy hearts and more than a few concerns, but also with a great deal of energy. We chose not to wait until every bureaucratic detail was finalised and instead set out on a long family journey – time together, without schedules, without background noise.
During that period, we waited for developments, and there were delays. Significant ones. Financial pressure began to build, and the uncertainty was challenging. Then, almost unexpectedly, another door opened: a job offer for Roni, in his field, in a place that had never been on our radar – England.
The decision was not an easy one. There were many conversations, a great deal of thought, and consultation with Lisa Segalov. In the end, we chose to embrace the opportunity. From that moment on, things began to fall into place: kind people we met along the way, a warm and welcoming community, a genuine willingness to help, and a strong sense that we were not alone.
The children settled in remarkably well. We found a supportive educational framework, a pleasant home in a good area, and an environment that allowed us to breathe. Everything moved at a calm, organised pace, without unnecessary drama.
On a practical level, things also worked out smoothly. Our belongings arrived intact, the transition was quick, and life began to take on a new routine – simpler and far more balanced.
We are building our lives here, at our own pace, with a great sense of inner calm. Of course, we left behind family and dear friends, and the longing is real, but today connections are maintained differently, and our hearts know the decision was right.
The children are relaxed, we feel complete, and our family back home is supportive and loving. It truly feels as though we have opened up a world of possibilities.
We are grateful every day for the courage to make this change, and for the professional and human guidance of solicitor Lisa Segalov and Eti, who were with us every step of the way.
For anyone considering a change of direction, a new beginning elsewhere – we are here, in England, with open arms and open hearts.
